BUSINESS PLAN

 OBJECTIVE

The Management Business Plan Project provided the intern an opportunity to develop a business plan aimed at the implementation of a retail  theme day. The business plan allowed for exploration of the company, services provided, market analysis, marketing strategy, financial plan, and resources required for successful implementation.

BUSINESS PLAN OVERVIEW

Operating a successful food establishment is a challenging task. The main goal of the operation is to generate a profit while pleasing the customer and offering attractive meals.  ARAMARK has provided excellent service at the Lutheran Medical Center café for over 10 years. To continue offering superior service, management constantly needs to improve its ways to deliver the right product to the customer and at the right price. This business plan aims to increase sales of The Café, while providing desired meals to the customer.  An analysis of current trends and competitiveness of the market, lead to this proposal to implement a theme day that offers healthy and appealing meals, provides a variety of choices and is profitable.  Pertaining to this business plan, a Japanese meal was prepared in front of the customer and contained a variety of vegetables, noodles and chicken. The customer was able to not only choose, but also see what is being cooked, thereby increasing customer satisfaction.

Sales of this item exceeded the predicted 20% rise of sold dishes and resulted in an increase of 28%. The average check increased by 8.4% and total lunch sales of the Café were 11% higher than average Thursday sales. Additionally, the Japanese dish was the most popular sold item in The Café. The use of this concept was a success.
