Ilona discovered her passion for nutrition upon graduating from Culinary School as one of the top students in her class. She realized early-on the importance that food played in the human body. Food was not just for consumption, it was a calculated science that, if followed correctly, could extend the lifespan of people. And it is working with people that Ilona enjoys best. It is the opportunity to improve people’s life by sharing her knowledge of nutrition and various diets with them that she greatly enjoys. This knowledge, combined with her extensive travels and multi-language skills (Polish, Russian, Lithuanian and English), allows her to reach en everextensive network of people who can benefit from the importance of good nutrition. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and Consumption, as well as a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Management, both from Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Poland. Upon finishing graduate school, Ilona decided to come to the U.S. and pursue her career in nutrition in New York City. |
She also was given the opportunity to volunteer at the department of Genetic and Genomic Sciences, also at Mount Sinai Medical Center. The department deals with patients that have various metabolic diseases such as PKU, MSUD, TYR, Organic acidemias, etc. She assisted with consultations, obtained anthropometric measurements, dietary records, calculated amounts of protein in patients’ diets, and adjusted the amount of formulas needed.
Going forward, she entered ARAMARK dietetic internship program in NYC.
