For more than 100 years, Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center has provided quality and compassionate health care to those in need, regardless of their ability to pay. Bronx-Lebanon is the largest voluntary, not-for-profit health care system serving the South and Central Bronx, with 970 beds at two major hospital divisions; a major psychiatric facility; two specialized long term care facilities; and an extensive “BronxCare” Network of medical practices, including the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Health Center; as well as a 51-unit housing facility for seniors and low income residents.

90 bed Highbridge Woodycrest Center are providing quality long term health care to residents with HIV and AIDS. It is integral part of the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center Health Care System. At the Highbridge Woodycrest Center, a full range of programs, including medical, nursing, psychological, substance abuse and nutrition services are offered.

Heritage Health and Housing

Mission: To continue to expand and improve the efforts of our Board, staff and consumers to serve our communities using available resources to fill gaps in need.

Heritage Health & Housing provides enriched housing, medical and dental services, counseling, education, training, employment and community support to the residents of Upper Manhattan and the South Bronx, particularly individuals with special needs, including the mentally disabled, substance abusers, persons living with HIV/AIDS, recently released ex-offenders, the homeless and the elderly. In addition, Heritage Health& Housing provides needed community services including health care, food services, and neighborhood economic development.

Food and Nutrition Program provides delicious full course meals Monday-Friday, food pantry, nutrition education and workshops, and individual nutritional counseling for low income individuals with HIV/AIDS.

Lutheran Medical Center

Lutheran Medical Center is founded in 1883, is a 462-bed academic teaching hospital offering a complete range of services including a N.Y.S. designated Stroke Center, state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory, award winning orthopedic program, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and one of the busiest emergency departments and Level I Trauma Centers in Brooklyn. As a social ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the medical center is committed to excellence and culturally competent care.

Since 2002, food service operations at the Lutheran Medical Center are run by ARAMARK. The food service department produces food to the patients of the hospital utilizing cook chill system. Additionally, freshly cooked breakfasts and lunches are offered to the guests, medical students and employees at the Lutheran Café.
